After Garrett received his Arrow of Light in Weblos we started working on his Scout Merit Badges. One of them he choose was to provide four hours of volunteer sevice at a library. For liability purposes he could only clean the covers of books, but it was worth the effort and a good experience for him.

Good for him. I'm impressed that he cleaned books for four hours and that he got his Arrow of Light. Yea!

Go for Gar! But a liability? Good grief. I remember a scout training I attended a couple of years ago. We're no longer supposed to turn boys over to receive their Bobcat because it's considered "hazing." As a member in our bishopric so eloquently said, "We're raising a bunch of pansies."
