Family Photos

We had family photos taken a few weeks ago by a friend in our ward. The setting was at a lake a couple of miles away. It was really good weather and the kids played at the playground after we were done. She also printed them in black and white and will be using them as our Christmas photo.

Elsie singing her ABC's, sort of :0

Once I turned on the camera she went to shy mode. Hopefully we can get a video if her dance moves to post soon.

Nathan wanted to make sure he had a picture with his mask on.

Nathan and Elsie getting candy from a neighbor.

For the past three years the kids have gone trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. It was just enough distance that they could walk to the end and back home, without me carrying them:) This year the neighbors seemed ready for the crowds and the kids came home with their buckets 3/4 full. In the past they maybe had them half-full.

Everyone had a good time. One of the homes actually had a haunted trail leading into their back yard. Garrett, Kayla, and Nathan went through that while I stayed in front with Elsie. There were a few other homes that were decorated from top to bottom. Elsie wasn't afraid to go to any of them. She just held up her bucket and said the customary words. It was a fun night and I look at the pictures and remember that the night started off slow, but once we got out of the house everything moved along with laughed and animated chatter.

Between Disneyland, the ward Trunk-or-treat, and Halloween night I washed these costumes, by hand, three times. Next year we will be making sure that the costumes can be washed by machine.

Elsie had a late nap and was up with Paul and I. Later, when I came in from the garage, Paul commented on our girl sleeping on the stairs. I looked over and there she was, fast asleep.

Elsie is now out of her crib and takes to sleeping in different places. We ment to put together her toddler bed, but we cannot find the screws. Go figure. She naps about every other day. When I do find her asleep a smile comes to my face for I think that it is one of the best times to watch her and enjoy a moment to reflect on the fun times that we have had that day.

The stink bug postion is one of our favorites.

Of course Paul would participate in this activity!

Elsie loves, loves, loves dolls. She is a minnie mother and likes to wrap up her dolls in blankets, rocks them, and even reads books to them.

Happy Halloween

We went to California Adventure this year as part of our Halloween celebration. Our friends, the Donahoes, told us about it earlier this year and we incentivize dthe kids to do extra chores to pay for their tickets. If they did not want to go then they needed to pay for the babysitter. Needless to say, they all chose to go rather than pay for a babysitter. It was a hot night, around 80 degrees, but fun non-the-less. The kids went on a few rides and there were candy stations throughout the park. There were also professional characters dressed for the occasion.
