First day of school for 3 out of 4!! Elsie gets to hang out with mom for 31/2 hrs. each day and 4 hrs. on Wednesday's.
The school crew. (Explanation to Pink cast will follow)

Nathan's first writing and coloring pictures in class. Everyone is enjoying their days at school. Garrett is in the musical program and is learning to play the viola. Kayla was nervous about not doing well in class, but has proven that she can handle 2nd grade. Nathan has surpassed all expectations! The teachers say that he could be a TA. He is above in writing and reading as well as word recognition. I just respond that he picks up on info. really quickly and that he is self motivated as well. I can honestly say that I had nothing to do with it, almost :) Paul and I feel that Nathan now feels that he is a part of the big kids, he is among his peers, and he can be more of himself, even outside of our home.

Over the summer a good friend had a Circus themed birthday party. There were circus games as well as popcorn, candy, and drinks worth a few tickets each. It was a really fun time for everyone and we were surprised that Elsie sat so long to get a face painting.

First of all take a close look at the picture. Enlarge it if you would like to get a closer look. This was done by Nathan. Pretty good for a kid who hasn't been to school yet, don't you think? This family portrait is actually on his pillow case. He did this during a rest time. Obviously I did not know that he had a pen in stow. When I asked him if he drew the picture so that he could have his family near him, he replied, "No. I did it so I could remember every ones name".
While Paul was gone Garrett and I spent 3 days putting together this 600 piece puzzle. We ate picnic style in the living room and the kids enjoyed seeing the end result.

We started off our summer with swim lessons. Every Friday is safety day as well as a fun day where the kids get to use their swimming skills that they have learned while playing games.
Garrett is the one with the green top.
