Nathan wanted to make sure he had a picture with his mask on.

Nathan and Elsie getting candy from a neighbor.

For the past three years the kids have gone trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. It was just enough distance that they could walk to the end and back home, without me carrying them:) This year the neighbors seemed ready for the crowds and the kids came home with their buckets 3/4 full. In the past they maybe had them half-full.

Everyone had a good time. One of the homes actually had a haunted trail leading into their back yard. Garrett, Kayla, and Nathan went through that while I stayed in front with Elsie. There were a few other homes that were decorated from top to bottom. Elsie wasn't afraid to go to any of them. She just held up her bucket and said the customary words. It was a fun night and I look at the pictures and remember that the night started off slow, but once we got out of the house everything moved along with laughed and animated chatter.

Between Disneyland, the ward Trunk-or-treat, and Halloween night I washed these costumes, by hand, three times. Next year we will be making sure that the costumes can be washed by machine.

Looks and sounds like Halloween was a big success at your home. We miss not having small children around to come to our home. The costumes were darling and we hope to see them when we're there for Thanksgiving.
