Scout Day

A fun afternoon watching the boys go through their bike courses. Yummy root beer floats afterwords.

Summer goodies

Grandma Pearl sent the kids some fun items for the summer. Kayla and Elsie received fun bags, which they use to put toys in and also are handy for their clothes and towels to be in during swim lessons. Garrett received a binocular. We are planning on bringing those along with us to the Wild Animal Park. Nathan received two Star Wars action figures that he places on top of his dresser each night. Thank you Grandma Pearl !!

Day of Fun

Near the end of the school year the school hosts a Fun Day for the kids. There are many stations for the kids to participate in various activities. The kids get to spend about 15-20 min. at each station. Some of the favorites stations are the inflatable slide and obstacle course, bubble blowing with recycled strawberry holders, soda pop holders, and plastic rings. There is also a water cup line race, bouncing ball, and rest stations where snacks and drinks are served. Everyone has a blast each year.

Park day

We met Paul at the park and had a lot of fun. Nathan even made a new friend. They were having fun jumping off an eight foot platform into the sand until the parents spotted them and encouraged them to try something else that would have a happier ending :)
UPS has a new driver. I wonder if they know??

Cute smile.

As you can see it was sunny which made the ground hot, but you can't tell from the looks on their faces.

Even Dad got in on the action. What is the saying? Young at heart.

Nathan in true form. Hangin from the tree like a monkey.

Usual Suspects

Setting: While working on the computer Wednesday morning I turned to the sound of a box being set down on the table behind me to discover that not only did the box contain the ever so innocent and cute roly poly bugs, but that there were numerous punctures in the box as well. As the only ones home, Nathan, Elsie, and myself, I had a fifty-fifty chance to figure out the culprit.

Suspects: Nathan, 5 years old and Elsie, 3 years old.
(Looks can be deceiving.)

As I went searching through the house I located three possible weapons.

Weapons: black ball point pen, nail, small handled screwdriver.

As I put the clues together-punctured board, roly polies, pen, nail or screwdriver, I began to formulate a picture in my mind which brought me closer to finding the guilty suspect.

After what seemed like hours and countless questions Nathan pleaded that using his logical thinking, at the time, he needed to have an object, bingo game box, to hold his pets in and to be humane to all living things made breathing pockets, on both the top and bottom of the box, with the screw driver.
When all was said and done the roly polies were transferred to the perfect object intended just for them, the mop bucket.

Yee, ha!

All of the kids like to straddle Pauls back, Elsie just took it one step farther. Thank goodness she's a girl :)

Nate's skills

Nathan showing off one of his many feats on the trampoline.

What a princess we have and adore. I couldn't resist taking a few shots of a mothers most treasured(counting down minutes, mental health time, etc.) rest during the day. We coldn't find her flip flops and she was more than willing to put her ballet slippers on. (No she is not in ballet, but watches enough Barbie: 12 Dancing Princess and other such stories that she dances very well, bowing and asking, "May I have this dance?"

Fun in the Sun

Nathan was showing off his muscular arms after completing the monkey bars by himself.

We finally accepted that we needed a new camera and so Paul was breaking it in with a few shoots of Elsie and I.

No Camera

Well it has been over a month now since our camera went M.I.A.. We have had a few birthday celebrations, fun activities, and other mementos that will have to be stored in our mental memories. Which means that they will be forgotten before the next year:). Until we get a replacement I have a few kid thoughts for the day:

- Mom this homework is so hard (Garrett 3rd grade).

-Garrett was sleeping in and Paul went to go wake him:
Why are you sleeping in?
Because I am just like you.

-Kayla, Nathan, and Elsie playing:
Nathan! Don't play like a girl, fight like a man!

-Mom, you're the bestest (Nathan,5)

-Mom, can you sing Happy Birthday to me? (Nathan, a couple of days past his birthday:)
