Final score Fish 3, Humans 1
We went fishing a few times, but only our cousin and his father caught a fish. We all left with limbs still intact albeit a few hooks and bobs were left behind in the reeds. It was still fun to go to the ponds.

Garrett and I went on a date to one of the lakes. If only we had on water pants would we have caught anything. It was as if the fish were teasing and taunting us. How rude!!

Horses, horses, horses, ye-ha!!

Kayla and I got to drive through some beautiful scenery and passed a white water rafting station on our way to a horse riding company. I did get lost a few times, but we made it and were the only ones for that time slot so we had the guide all to ourselves. She was a very nice lady and had been around horses all her life. The ride was an hour long and took us along an old logging road. In the picture of us two we are at the top of the trail. Green all around-trees, hills, grass, it was wonderful. The weather was perfect as well, warm with a slight breeze to off-set it.
I don't remember the name of Kayla's horse, mine was Randy. Paul and I laughed at that. I was sore for a few days afterwards because Randy liked to eat whenever I put my guard down, so in order to catch up to the other horses, he would go into a slow trot.

Had lunch by a huge tree perfect for climbing.

We took a side path to get to the top of the hill and the view was incredible. Just miles and miles of greenery. Then some of us took the shortest route down and continued our walk to a nearby trail that looped around the base of the hill.

The kids built their own fairy homes out of bark, twigs, rocks and leaves. They enjoyed seeing each day if there had been any visitors:)

We had so much fun at the Fourth of July parade in Idaho. There were lots of emergency vehicles (which as you can tell were a bit too loud for Elsie and her cousin Tyler), biker clubs, off road vehicles, classic cars, professional horse riders, and the best part was the candy being tossed to the kids from the cars.

Relaxing in the pool, boys playing Monopoly

Bowling with cousins

Relaxing on the lawn mower, reading Garfield.

Feeding fish at the hatchery. The shimmer is actually the masses coming to feed.

These are just some of the activities that we did this summer. Our vacation to Idaho and Utah took up most of the kids time off from school.

First day of school. Nathan is in school all day now.
The bandage on Kayla's chin is from a split chin. She did not want stitches so I assesed the width and depth and decided that I would try my hand at putting it back together as best as I could and it actually healed really well. (I posted about the start of last year with Kayla and her pink cast. A future trend? I hope not)

Please bear with me as I update past and present photos. This is Nate on his Kinder grad. day with his team teachers Mr. & Mrs. Wysocki (pronounced Y-sock-e)

New Funnies

A few funnies to read while I take another 2-3 months to get my act together and put up pics.

Garrett- O.k. these drinks are for you kids.

Nate- Please bless my little cough

Elsie-Remember that green stuff running out of my nose? We need to pray for that too.

Elsie-Fine! You will not be my big brother anymore!
Nate-Listen here little miss! I will always be your big brother!

Elsie-(stubbed toe) Shoot fire!

Nate-Only Garrett and I are allowed in our room!
Gap- Oh yeah? Then why is mom allowed?
Nate- Because she gives us good night kisses.

Prequel: Garrett asked Kayla a question and I was whispering, "no", behind her.
Kayla- I hear something whispering no. I think it is the Holy Ghost.
( My favorite:)
